"Could you improve the disabled parking at Mount Gould?"

About: Sentinel Healthcare Southwest Community Interest Company / Dermatology (skin)

(as a relative),

I took my father to visit the dermatology clinic at Mount Gould. He was referred by my GP and got an appointment quickly and easily. The facilities are great and the staff are kind. I even got a duplicate letter they sent to my GP, without asking.

The only problem is the disabled parking, which is really quite a walk from basement to the clinic. There isn’t any disabled parking near enough – there should be some by the front door. I have to drop my father by the door and then go to park and find him again. I really don’t like doing this, as he has trouble with his eyes, and his hearing has almost gone – so when he can hardly see or hear, I really don’t like just leaving him like that!

Dear Name964

Thank you for posting your story, I'm pleased your experience of the clinic was good, but we are sorry to hear that you had problems accessing disabled parking at the site. As a response I have sent your story to the facilities management team at Mount Gould to see if there is anything they could do or advise to make this easier? Alternatively you can e-mail me direct on neilparsons@nhs.net or phone me on 01752434908 to discuss your experience.

Once again let me thank you for your response, without patients feedback the NHS cannot improve it's services.

Best wishes

Dear Name964

A brief update further to your feedback which we hope will be useful to you.

We have been informed that carers or relatives who drive patients can park at the drop off zone outside the main entrance while they escort the patient to the relevant area. They can then move the car to the car park and rejoin the patient.

Once the patient has been seen the driver can then pick up from the main reception again after parking in the drop off zone.

It has been working very well, if patients are aware they can use the drop off zone.

Once again thank you for raising your concerns.
