About: Burnley General Hospital

What I liked

i visited minor injuries last friday.I know it was busy but we had a wait of just over an hour to even see the triage nurse. My husband is in a wheelchair cannot do anything for himself and as no speech. He was in extreme pain.We sat a further two hours in the waiting area and was eventually seen at 1am in the morning .We were with the doctor less than 3 minutes. He said its an infection take antibiotics and see your own GP.Three hours sat with people who were laughing joking texting and playing games on phones wll Im sorry but if you can be doing that they dont need to be taking time up when others need treatment. Also its an absolute disgrace how they are in and out smoking the smoke filters back inside each time the door opens and after 3 hours sat there I felt sick.I understood this was a non smoking hospital.People were coming back in stinking of smoke.I really hope we dont need to go there again.

What could be improved

waiting times and the smoking issue
