What I liked
Our First Baby delivery was excellent, but up on maternity ward appalling our new baby’s security tag was not correctly fitted, it was so lose it fell off after requesting a midwife re fitted it I was bluntly told I would have to wait, the midwife was rude and abrupt it fell off another 2 times ! , they also on discharge gave my wife the wrong baby’s medical record!! I made a formal complaint and the chief exec’s response was not polite at all, they don’t keep records of staff training (requested for the security tag fitting). The actual delivery suite staff were amazing, but I would never want my wife or next child to have to stay on the maternity ward.
What could be improved
Decent Manners, consideration to patients and their families. checking security tags are fitted correctly , checking and double checking the correct medical record is handed to the parents on discharge, Keeping accurate records of training and attendance. and a chief exec who is actually polite and deals with complaints with dignity and respect.
We did not have any offer for a meeting, to talk about the shocking problems we encountered
