"Necessary admission, but bad experience"

Majority of the ward staff were friendly and thoughtful

What could be improved

Decisions about my care and the results of what I had done and expected recovery etc. we're not discussed. I was moved from ward 21 to day surgery for my final night with no explanation, day surgery did not appear to be equipped for over night patients. Waiting to see a Dr following my surgery took a long time especially as I had been injured during anaesthetic. Due to waiting for surgery I went without food and drink from Friday pm via A&E until Saturday around 8pm when I was given a yoghurt. The staff did complain about being short staffed and this showed. I waited to see my Dr prior to discharge, waiting untill 3pm, apparently they did not know I'd been moved. I was discharged with no pain relief or follow up or medication/help for the injury caused in my throat.
