I’ve had lots of back and spinal problems at RD&E. Mostly this was 6 years ago. After one operation I was paralysed from the neck down and they sent me to the Mardon Rehab Centre. Luckily they were able to get me back on my feet. Mr Chan the specialist there told me I was likely to be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. But they got me back walking with these sticks! The consultant was great and so was the team and the whole of RD&E.
The care at Clare House is great too. Of course they have to see me down stairs as I can’t climb all their stairs anymore but I can’t complain and they arrange for everything I need to be done on the ground floor.
The only thing I find bad is all the people who aren't disabled but who park in disabled places. It’s not the NHS’s fault of course but it makes it really difficult for people like me who really are disabled.
