I've been coming to Mount Gould Care Centre for 4 years now on and off. I think the whole place is brilliant.
I was admitted to Derriford Hospital 18 months ago because I had a fall. I didn't particularly enjoy being there, I just didn't get a good impression of the nurses and one of the nurses was very rude to me and I felt really angry with her. I actually told her off for how she spoke to me.
After a few weeks they said I was being transferred to Mount Gould and I felt so relieved and pleased. I've had nothing but good experiences here and all the staff know me, I know them. I just think in my experience the conditions of the place, the treatment and the attitudes of the staff are so much better.
I now come once a week for a leg ulcer on my ankle. I go round the corner to the Sentinel reception and they're always really polite and helpful. I actually quite like coming here for it, the district nurse has offered to come to my house but I don't need her to, I'm very happy coming to see her here and because everyone's always so nice it's anything but an unpleasant place to come to. It gives me an opportunity to get out.
Even if they told me they needed to admit me to this hospital I wouldn't feel bad about it, I'd be quite happy because I know I'd be well cared for.
All in all, a brilliant place and lovely lovely staff.
