What I liked
Whilst we were being treated for a Cancer condition we were on ward16. All the staff were supportive, friendly and took time to not only care for my stepdad but for us as a family too. Taking time to talk through medication, conditions and implications. We were even offered to stay overnight and when the passing of my step father happened we had such great support and even attendance at the funeral from some of the staff that travelled our journey with us. The team on Ward 16 are a credit to the hospital.
What could be improved
The only thing I would want to improve is that some Doctors lack "bedside manner" and we experienced that.... need to be mindful Dr's that although you deal with life and death every moment of every day - the family and the patients are living it....!
Also - you only get one chance to get Palliative care right - so don't blow it!
"Ward 16 staff are fantastic!"
