What I liked

Reasonable service. 20 minutes late to be seeen, but very helpful staff and clean throughout.

What could be improved

£2.90 to park thecar for half an hour! So much for 'free at the point of delivery'. I have read the PCT's pathetic justifications for these charges, but of course the truth is they maks an absolute fortune from it. (and If they don't that's even worse!). I usually park elsewhere but didn't have time on this occasion. I have visited the hospital 3 times in the past year and have never needed more than 50 minutes. An absolute racket! They should be stopped from charging for carparks, as they are in Scotland.

Thank you for your feedback and we will pass your comments on to the outpatients team at Hertford County. With regard to car parking, it costs the Trust circa £1 million to provide car parking facilities across all of our hospitals, none of which is funded centrally. We charge to cover those costs, with any surplus - in 2011 it was less than 1% - being ploughed back in to patient care. Hertford County has an additional problem - if we didn't charge, then the car park would be packed out with commuters using the local train station!
