About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

What could be improved

My wife went to the Hospital arriving at 11.45 for a 12O'clock appointment. at 1O'clock a nurse went into the waiting area and told her she would be taken through for her operation quite soon. At 1.30pm she was taken to a consulting room to be told there would be no operation as the Surgeon went ill on that morning.

1.Why didn't anyone ring us at home to tell us not to attend

2. Why were we not told when we arrived

3. Why did it take 1.5 hours after the appointment time for someone to tell us

4. How is it no-one noticed that you had an operating theatre full of staff but no patients or surgeon

5. Would any of your staff or executives be prepared to put up with treatment, or rather lack of treatment, like this

Anything else?

I had a previous experience of this awful hospital when I attended accident and emergency at 9.30pm and was discharged at 3.00am and expected to pay for a taxi to get back to Graveney. As a 70year old I could not afford a taxi and could not believe the callous attitude of this hospital. It should be closed as soon as possible as it is not serving the community.
