What I liked
Having been ill but managing M.E. for over 24 years I suffered a relapse in 2008 which left me highly bedbound.
In 20I1 happily and successfully commenced treatment for M.E. Previous treatment at both UCHL and St Albans had caused relapses of M.E.
My local PCT have withdrawn funding for my treatment mid treatment and my treatment has stopped despite my local area not offering replacement/alternative treatment.
The treatment which comprised of three elements effected me from a state of bed bound to far more active slowly supporting my body's healing from ME. I am currently paying for treatment privately although cost is an issue as I am still unwell and unable to work and my lime limited benefit has now ceased. I am hopeful that I will restore my health to the level prior to 2008 or better.
RLHIM is a clean hospital with caring knowledgeable staff and kind receptionists. Visiting for treatment feels so supportive and is a positive experience. The staff are knowledgeable and specialist.
RLHIM offers alternative treatments some pre date the scientific medicines we are used to by hundreds of years ie acupunture, homeopathy. My experience is that alopathic medication is too harsh for my system and treats symptoms which is not successful for me personally. My body needs healing support and supportive healing.
I wish RLHIM a successful future it's services are very important
What could be improved
PCT funding from Hertfordshire in order that my treatment could be funded and continued.
My treatment was stopped without notice 5 months ago.
Traditional Chinese Acupuncture to be funded under NHS
