What I liked
Modern Hospital. Well thought out sign posting (at least to where I was going)
What could be improved
I was an outpatient for a biopsy. Simple procedure. Carried out well. Options explained to me for future treatment subject to laboratory report. Treated as an intelligent adult. Left the hospital with an overall positive feeling. (except for the car parking which was a nightmare, no spaces, gridlocked and very expensive for a pensioner)
Unfortunately two days later things started to go wrong. My ear became very painful and swollen. In fact very swollen to the extent that I consulted my local GP. I was told that the wound itself was "nicely healed" but my ear was badly infected. Course of anti-biotics prescribed and told to come back if no improvement in two days. There was none so saw GP who was very concerned that infection in cartilege could be very serious, prescribed additional anti-biotics, wanted to see me again in three days and advised against me going on planned holiday abroad until after that appointment. The swelling has reduced and Doctor was satisfied three days later that I was on the mend. Even now ear is still very tender although wound is completely healed. Have lost week of my holiday.
Clearly the infection was acquired at your hospital during the procedure
Anything else?
Worried about infection from further treatment which will probably require day surgery.
