"An excellent hospital with the human touch and..."

What I liked

Being on holiday I had noo idea about hospitals in the area but this was the closest to where I had my accident. It was so refrshing to be treated like a human being and not a number. I didn't have to wait too long and in no time I was walking out on crutches with my leg in a back-slab plaster, ably applied by the friendly Graham.

What was most impressive was the expertise of the Nurse Practitioner who spotted an avulsion fracture in my ankle which I gather is unusual and was very difficult to spot. When I returned home a GP at my surgery could not see there was a fracture from the X-ray. The nurse's diagnosis was confirmed when I saw a specialist consultant at Basingstoke Hospital. If they hadn't spotted it and ordered the plaster as a precaution, my foot would be in a far worse state now. So thank you Driffield. I'll return the crutches eventually as we intend to return to this lovely part of the world and this time finish the Hockney Trail so rudely disrupted by my fall.

What could be improved

The ability of the system to allow an appointment to be booked in a Fracture Clinic out of the Region.
