"My experience of Diabetic Clinic Wythenshawe Hospital"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital / Diabetic medicine

(as the patient),

It's a small clinic, out of the way, and could be helpful. What have they done for me? Well, they let me go on a Diabetes Xpert Patient 6 week course, and although I could have done with going on that 10 years ago, still, it has helped somewhat.

I feel that the conflicting opinions on how diabetes should be treated sometimes gets in the way of proper treatment. And a lack of communication doesn't help much. Also, if you have an eating disorder along with diabetes, they can't help. Though they don't do blood tests in that dept, they can refer you for them, just like my handy local GP.

However, they don't offer lifestyle changes help or assistance due to lack of funding. Really, I don't think they can do anything that a book from the library couldn't do equally as well, or a visit to the GP; the only other medical staff that can help are the specialists. I find this astounding considering there's a nationwide epidemic of diabetes.
