"treat like a person not a number"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

What I liked

I came to fracture clinic, which was very busy but i expected this on a Saturday.

The lady who brought me in was very polite and showed me into the room, the Consultant was very friendly and made my day as he was sharing a joke with the man in the plaster room.

I was treated professionally and i can say i really enjoyed the banter in the plaster room.

He treated me with respect and empathy.

I have had experiences at other hospitals and it's the first time i felt like a person and not a number.

What could be improved

The only improvement i could see helping would be maybe a tv in the main waiting area.

We are sorry that it has taken so long to respond to your feedback on the NHS Choices website. It has been very remiss of us. We have put a new system in place so hopefully, this will improve and we will respond in future much more quickly. Thank you for telling us that you felt the staff were friendly and your treatment was provided as quickly as possible. It is really reasurring to hear that you felt our staff were very professional and understood how you must have been feeling. It is really important for us to listen well to all the feedback we receive every year from patients and families – we know it allows us to pay proper attention to the things that really matter. So thank you.
