"Felt invisible, saw elderly patients being poorly..."

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

What I liked

One attentive and polite nurses, but that's about it.

What could be improved

Staff need to communicate with each other!

The start of my visit saw me waiting 2hrs to then be asked to sit next to some used needles just left lying on a bed, after which I was asked to wait for a further long period.

Next I was given a pink form and told to grab the Radiologist when he came out.

After seeing the Radiologist I was given a yellow form and told to look for the doctor.

I don't believe going to A&E for any reason should become self-service. I might be wrong but I expect a certain amount of care when I'm ill or injured and it is down to the hospital staff to see me through the process.

This was my first visit to hospital in all of my 33 years because of an injury and I was shocked that (with the exception of one amazing and friendly nurse) I was not treated with a little more respect.

I felt like I was being herded through the hole process (very slowly).

I realise that NHS staff work very hard and don't get paid enough but come on guys prove your worth and put a smile on and talk to one another. Please.

Anything else?

Care of elderly patients was awful.
