"the treatment I received"

About: Specialist clinical services / Heart failure specialist nurse

(as the patient),

This is a thank you to Dorothea, the very efficient friendly nurse who weighed me, did an ECG, checked my blood sugar levels, asked me various questions.

I would like to thank Dorothea for her generally very kind and reassuring manner. Initially I was put off by the fact that she chewed gum, but this seemed less important than her very pleasant manner and general comportment. Perhaps she is trying to give up smoking?

One criticism, which is nothing to do with Dorothea, but rather to the system: it was a very lengthy business, a total of three hours with about 30 minutes of that time with Dorothea and the consultant...perhaps a rather unequal balance?

The week before, I had to visit the A & E department where I had wonderfully kind and cheerful attention from Comfort and a lovely young Doctor whose name escapes me, but I remember that his family had originally come from Sri Lanka, though he was born and raised in Britain. Thank you both very much for doing a difficult job with such efficiency and kindness.

Thank you for this feedback. I'd like to share this with the team concerned but your posting doesn't say where you saw the Heart Failure nurse (which community clinic or community hospital).

If you would like to email this to me on karenedmunds@nhs.net or post further details on Patient Opinion I can make sure your feedback is shared with the right team.

Best wishes
