"Stent Insertion at Essex Cardiothoracic Centre"

About: Basildon University Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Having had a triple heart bypass 5 ago in 2007 at Barts (London), I began showing symptoms of mild angina in 2012 and was referred to the Basildon Cardiothoracic Centre for an angiogram to investigate the arteries. This showed that (whilst the bypass grafts were clear), a fourth main artery had become seriously blocked and therefore I was admitted soon after to have a stent fitted.

My stay was in Roding Ward which I found to be superb in every aspect. It was spotlessly clean, modern, well equipped and spaciously planned - all staff were friendly, cheerful, reassuring and highly professional - I did not need to ask for anything and felt like I was the only patient.

The procedure was fully explained beforehand which was helpful and reassuring. I would like to extend my most grateful thanks to Dr. Aggarwal and his team for a totally successful outcome and for making the whole experience simple to undergo with no pain or discomfort.

In summary I found every aspect of my stay to be superb and would like to congratulate the hospital for its excellence throughout.
