I had a total knee replacement six months ago at Wrightington.
The surgeons and everyone involved in the operation, e.g. Anaethetists and nurses and recovery staff, were fantastic. The aftercare I felt left a lot to be desired. Some of the nurses were excellent, but I am afraid not all.
I was in over a weekend and on Saturdays day operations take place. I was not feeling too well, and I am sure a lot of other people feel the same after a major operation, and found the noise and chatter from a lot of the day people awful. I don't think the patients who are recovering from major operations should be on this ward. It was D ward.
Also the ward was freezing cold in the night, and only a sheet and a thin blanket for cover.
