What I liked
All of the nursing and support staff on the Cardiac Care unit were incredibly professional in how they went about their duties. The handover at the end of each shift provided the new staff with upto date information first hand rather than just relying on somebodys clerical notes. The transfer to the Silver Heart Unit at Rochdale was done as expediently as possible and the staff there took equally good care of me during my brief stay.
I cannot speak highly enough of this dedicated team of staff for the care and support they provided to me at such a worrying and difficult time. Long may the CCU at NMGH continue to function. If services are moved to Fairfield, I would hope that the vastly experienced staff at NMGH are given an opportunity to remain in the field of cardiac care. It's not always about how experienced and qualified somebody is, it's about the person themselves, and each and every member of staff working in this Unit genuinely cared for me as a person and not just another patient. Well done CCU.
God bless
