"Hospital comment"

About: St James's University Hospital

What I liked

The way that they were able to let my friend contacts us on their phones...

What could be improved

the fact that when she was discharged, she was in no fit state at all, and had no money for the taxi she was put in, she was drugged up to the eyeballs and the fact nobody let us even know she was on the way back is ridiculous. She stank, was a complete mess and also has her mobile phone unaccounted for. Shes been bk now approximately 8 hrs now and is still off her rocker, drugged up, confussed, emotional and basically a wreck. If this is normal treatment for patients then your hospital is a shambles.

Anything else?

I have firm intentions in going to the hospital tomorrow to get the proper care that my friend requires because she really needs to be there and not at home being a risk to herself and possible to others. In the meantime, me, my partner and my friends will be on tenterhooks hopin she calms down...thanks a lot.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on Patient Opinion. I was sorry to hear that you feel your friend was not treated properly at the hospital, and that she was not discharged in an appropriate state.

I will make sure that I pass your comments on to the patient experience manager at the hospital.
