"Tiverton day case unit better than private"

I have been a nurse for many years but seldom a patient.

Last year I underwent an operation on my foot at Tiverton. The care was better than in any private hospital, and I have worked there too!

The facilities at this hospital are so good, you actually feel like an individual not a number and the staff are proud of how they look after their patients and the care they give.

I feel very strongly that one of the major problems at Tiverton is that the doctors know how they want to operate, but they feel no ownership of their patients or lists any more. They often despare of how to change what is happening, few patients on their list, inappropriate bookings, but although they express their concern they also express the fact that nothing they do makes any difference.

Surely this is something that we ought to address.
