"Care not to bad, cleanliness appauling."

About: Warwick Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted to Fairfax ward after comimg from a&e. I was put on a mens ward with an old man showing off all he had got below! I was then moved to a womens ward which was better. The cleaners came round to clean with a wipe out of a packet and just wiped round my belongings on the table. The cleaning was very poor. When someone would leave the nursing staff cleaned the bed with a wipe and in circular motions cleaned the bed missing the middle of the matress. Then the cleaner saw a piece of cotton wool with blood and tap on the floor and instead of picking it up she just kicked it behind the bin. I am not being rude but all the cleaners were foreign and could not speak good english. I never saw once whist I was there any staff use the hand sanitizer!! So much for preventing infections!!

I was then moved to malins ward which was full of elderly people and I work and live with old people I dont want to sleep with them!!

The staff on malins ward were very nice and the ward was cleaned everyday.

The food you get in hospital well I can honestly say was vile how they can call that fresh food the portions were small medium or large there was no difference in size. Breakfast was a joke I asked for weatabix I got 1 I asked for another and the staff rolled there eyes at me. They offered bread which was stail why toast cant be served is beyond me it wouldnt be no harder than the bread was.

The tea and coffee was discusting.

I dont expect it to be the rizt but a bit of care put into the food would help.

My experience there was not good I was just given medication to take I asked what it was for and the staf replied the doctor has said this is what you have got to take. No explanation why and what it is for!!! Waking me up at 2.30 to weight me whats that all about!!

What could be improved

Train the correct staff to clean properly!! Get better cooks in the kitchen.

More training, more intense interview process dont just employ any Tom Dick or Harry.

Provide a better service for the patients.

Sell sugar free squash in the shop!! What about duabetic patients? Very poor stock control.

Listen listen listen to what patients want and need instead of just thinking oh that will be ok.

We are human beings who work and help to pay your salary!!
