"Treatment of a leg fracture "

About: Victoria Infirmary / Trauma & orthopaedics Western Infirmary/Gartnavel General / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Fractured my leg at home. Called ambulance and was taken to Western Infirmary. Operated on and metalwork was inserted in my leg to stabilise the fracture.

More than one year later I am told that I compromised my condition by putting weight on my leg. Apparently I was observed putting weight on my leg. By whom it has not been disclosed.

Consultants are now being changed. In my view this is being done to to obfuscate the issue. Also I feel that NHS complaints have seemed less than concerned.

Thank you for providing your comments about your orthopaedic treatment.

I was very sorry to read that you have concerns but feel that the complaints process has not been supportive. It is not clear from your posting whether you have already made a complaint, but if you have concerns about your treatment, you should raise these through the complaints process, if you email your details and concerns to complaints@ggc.scot.nhs.uk, these can be looked into for you.

I hope you will allow us an opportunity to look into these concerns for you properly.

Paul
