"Getting different advice from GP and pain team"
Posted by spambo (as ),
I am on MST and for a few years now I have been with the pain team. We came to a point that I (the patient) and the pain team at the Southern in Glasgow what to lower my dose of MST in a way I can manage myself. However, when I went to see my GP they want to take me off 30mg of MST in the one go. When I spoke to the pain team they say that I have to come off it at only 10mg every 1 to 2 months and then hopefully in 1 year I will be down to 100mg twice daily. I’ve been told two things, so I don’t know what to do. I spoke to another patient and they told me to go with the advice of the pain team, as if I lower my MST too fast I will then make my health worse instead of better. I just don’t no who to listen to.
