Two main points of dissatisfaction involving my visit to Crosshouse A&E dept to investigate a collarbone fracture:
1. Scarf type triangular sling provided to last all weekend - elastiplast fixtures fell off after a couple of hours. Felt there was totally insufficient support provided until next visit when immobiliser sling fitted.
2. Before leaving A&E after being attended to, was referred to Rapid Response team for assistance over weekend. Rapid Response team coordinator required to know when next appointment was and she and I stood for over 15 mins at the nurse desk with more than 6 nurses talking to each other (and no other patients or otherwise present) before anyone responded to our appeals or presence. Afternoon chat seemed to take presidence.
