"Excellent renal services, but a long delay in being treated for gout"

About: Leeds General Infirmary / Cardiology Leeds General Infirmary / Nephrology

(as a relative),

As a renal patient at St James which my husband attends 3 days a week, the staff are very busy but take the time to answer my questions concerning my husband.

He has MS as well as his memory being very bad, so communication with me as his carer is essential. The whole team are tremendous. Doing a great job. Thanks.

RE another problem he has which is very bad gout, caused by dialysis, he attends cardiovascular at the LGI, this has dragged on far too long in my opinion, and he's no further getting it solved, yet is in such pain. As his wife i feel for him when he screams in pain. Just wish whilst tests are being carried out, he could be helped another way. No complaints re staffs attitude, just length of time and no further forward.

Thank you for taking the time to share your exeperience on Patient Opinion. I was pleased to hear about the positive experience that you have with the Renal team, and the good work that they are doing for you and your husband.

I will pass on your compliments, and comments about your wait whilst seeing the cardiovascular team to the Patient Experience Manager at the hospital.
