"I was very impressed by the medical treatment and..."

About: Warwick Hospital

What I liked

I attended an outpatient gynaecology unit followed by day surgery. This required pre-operative checks in between both of the above appointments.

All the care I received was efficient and yet caring. Everything was explained to me and I felt fully informed about the process. My husband was fetched from the waiting room as soon as I came round from the anaesthetic which was really nice for both of us. I was made cups of tea and given a sandwich- all appreciated.

All in all I was very impressed by the hospital. I wrote to the Board to thank everyone for their care and they kindly wrote back, which again was appreciated.

What could be improved

At the original gynaecology appointment I had a medical observer. It was not explained to me who she was and why she was there. In retrospect I found this a bit intimidating, especially due to the nature of the examination!

Thank you for your positive feedback regarding your care at Warwick Hospital. I will ensure that your comments are passed on to the team.

I am sorry that you felt intimidated by the medical observer. I will speak to the department manager to ensure that staff communicate the reasons for why they are present at appointments, as well as ensuring all patients have the opportunity to ask the observer to leave their

appointment.

King regards
