"A mixed experience"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted and needed a section due to complications at 39 weeks. Care on Delivery Suite and Cley very good, staff lovely and efficient.

Community Midwives excellent and in particular my own named MW whom I saw everytime from 20 weeks inclucding home visits which were never no trouble.

What could be improved

Care post natally was terrible on Blakeney following section. I was left panicking and completely numb after being taken to the ward at 12.30-my partner was made to leave and I was numb feeling completely helpless, disorientated, baby on chest and left alone most of the time.

Meds were a complete joke-I had to ask everytime for my prescription meds and one day they only gave me 1 antibiotic out of 4 and no pain relief.

I felt most of the time staff were too busy and stretched to really take a interest and at times were condescending and I am a 2nd time Mum. Best help were student midwives who are a credit to UEA.

Anything else?

Very mixed experience-Shame 4 years ago it was a very good experience.
