"Effective treatment achieved, but nursing care was..."

About: Warwick Hospital

What I liked

The swiftness of the pre-op and post-op dealing with patients.

What could be improved

Better nursing care. The medical aspects were faultless but the general nursing care with regard to food, toileting, washing and discharge arrangements were sadly laking. Not to be able to have a cup of tea upon waking at 5:30am and having to wait for 2 and a half hours until breakfast is unacceptable when you are bed ridden. Also to have to ask for a bed pan be left sitting on it and having to press the calll button for its removal without any toilet paper being offered, is so unthoughtful and degrading. Needless to say, hand washing after bed pan use was not on offer either. Asking to clean ones teeth at the end of the day was deemed impossible without any bowl or water on hand either.

Anything else?

Hardly at all during my stay, 36 hours, was nursing care offered, it had to be asked for which isnt what you need when coping with an operation and recovery, is your prime objective.

Thank you for taking the time to post a comment. This area usually receives excellent feedback therefore it is both surprising and disappointing to me that you are unhappy with the nursing care.

Please write to me at the below address I will be able to look into your issues further.

Kind regards
