"some elements excellent"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

What I liked

Following my experience at the William Harvey Hospital i would like to give great praise to the gynaecology day surgery under my consutlant. especially theatre and recovery staff who cared for me with dignity, controlled my pain and constantly reassured me in the gynae theatres. As plans changed i would also like to give praise to the Staff Nurse in channel day suite for restoring my faith in common sense basic nursing care and HCAs on Kennington ward for my care through that night and on my discharge.

there is never enough praise for the good care that some staff deliver and as a community nurse myself it is never easy to be the patient. i thank them all and commend them for service they delivered.

Please would you pass my comments to them

What could be improved

A Registrar Anaesthetist who clearly needed an update in cannulation as he tissued my venflon causing me to have a severley swollen hand which needed antibiotics. i was rescued by another aneasthetist during the cannulation who told his colleague to stop.

A staff nurse in channel day who when i was dosed on morphine attached to a drip and oxygen who told me i had to get up and go to the toilet in order to go home.
