"Nursing care fantastic, communication between..."

What I liked

The staff on Riverside Day surgery ward were amazing. All the nurses were professional, yet friendly and happy. Our needs were taken into account. Lots of handwashing going on and nurses cleaning bedspaces thoroughly as soon as they were emptied. Could not fault them.

What could be improved

The waiting - the endless waiting. We had to be at the hospital by 07.30 hrs, got called to theatre about 12.30 hrs. My nephew waited in recovery for about 3 hours as there were no staff to go and collect him. (Our first experience of adult care). Then waited for the doctor to see us post op again for hours.

The communication between the doctors and the nurses - got it totally wrong unfortunately and had us worried sick. Got sorted in the end but only after much...... waiting.

Anything else?

Thank you to the nurses on Riverside Day Surgery ward - excellent attention to detail and loved being in your care. A refreshing change - well done.
