"Many thanks Mr Anderson from Southern General"

About: Southern General Hospital / General Surgery

(as a service user),

I have had a liver problem since I was 5 years old and not through drink. I have had 5 major bleeds into my stomach from my liver and in 4 of them I have flat lined. This happened over 28 years. I was under Mr. John Anderson of the Southern General hospital for 28 years. He saved my life during all of these bleeds, and made me stop blaming my parents for my illness. He is now just retried and I am under a new doctor. He is brill but I will always compare him to Mr. Anderson. I also came to trust him as a doctor and a friend. When I went in to get any operations, my heart rate would be 140 beats every 60 seconds to 70 to 80 beats, when I saw Mr. Anderson. So I just want to say that he will always be in my heart as a doctor and a friend, I will never trust a doctor the way I trusted him. So thank you so much to Mr. John Anderson of the Southern General hospital in Glasgow, I will never forget you and enjoy your retirement thank you again.

Many thanks for sharing your very kind comments about the service you experienced at the Southern General Hospital, and in particular the very thoughtful comments made about Mr Anderson, his Consultant successor, and their clinical support team, in particular.

This is greatly appreciated by the staff, who will be delighted to read this very heartening feedback.

Paul
