About: Leighton Hospital

What I liked

Hip Hip Hooray – The words on one of my get well cards I found greeting me when I arrived home from a four day stay in Leighton Hospital.

I was admitted to Ward 9 in February for a total hip replacement, being one of my consultant's patients. I had previously attended the hospital on two occasions, one for my pre-med and the other for an education therapy session. This I found most useful for what was to come after my surgery and discharge.

From the moment I arrived I was greeted by very friendly and caring nursing staff which continued throughout my stay. Nothing was too much trouble both day and night. The consultant came to see me before he carried out the operation, to answer any concerns I may have had. I was back on the ward within four hours of entering the hospital.

As far as the food was concerned I found it tasteful with a varied menu each day. Hot dishes were served piping hot and plentiful. It speaks volumes to say I put on five pounds during my stay.

To summarise I would recommend to any persons unfortunate to require a hip operation and are given a choice of hospital to put Leighton the top of your list.
