What I liked
I attended my appointment on March 10th to have an MRI Scan. I was met by a staff member who eventually did the scan. I say eventually, because...just before going into the tunnel, I had a major panic and had to be let out! I wanted to head for the hills...but he ...not fazed...managed to calm me down...by just simply putting his hand on my shoulder and asking me to think of something lovely! His manner was second to none that I have ever experienced. He constantly reasurred me throughout and we were able to complete the entire scan without a further problem. Thank you so much lovely person for a job well done!
Anything else?
I have been attending the Royal Free hospital for over a year now, several different departments also. I have always been treated so well, my appointments are usually on time and the overall demeanor of all members of staff is fantastic. They do a very difficult job for very little reward. I have seen them being abused, and generally treated with no respect at all!
Ask yourselves....Could you do their job, or even part of it...? I suggest not, in truth, we are not made of the same 'stuff' as these wonderful individuals....so next time there is a slight delay in being seen, instead of complaining...try saying thank you ... afterall, they are not partying or having a super time somewhere else....they are helping difficult and ungrateful patients and their families with very little thanks!
Thank you again Staff at the Royal Free....you are all wonderful human beings!
