What I liked

I attended the hospital on 7th february for an endoscopy. I was very anxious about having this procedure done, but must comment that the Consultant and her staff were very nice and reassuring. However the problem i now have is that a biopsy was taken and over a month later my G. P. still has not had the results back. My G.P has chased it up and heard nothing back. I have tried to ring myself and it is like the Secret Service to get to talk to anyone. I left 2 messages including a home and work number. This routine procedure has now resulted in me becoming very worried and stressed because i don't appear to be able to get the results back! A friend of mine had the same procedure done at the Q. E and was called back to the hospital to discuss her results within 2 weeks. This is not good enough South Tyneside.

What could be improved

Communication.

I am pleased your recent endoscopy procedure went well and you found the staff to be reassuring and able to put you at ease. However, I am disappointed your results have not been made available to you sooner and agree the delay you have experienced is unacceptable.
