About: University College Hospital

What I liked

We saw a great paediatric consultant who was polite, thoughtful and attentive.

Diagnostic tests were ordered and performed on the same day - very helpful as no return visits, hanging about, or too much time for nerves to kick in !

The physician carried out a thorough physical exam, asked questions, was thoughtful about any information offered.

Sensitive issues were dealt with well.

A further referral was made to complete the picture.

What could be improved

I thought everything was really great.

Could maybe provide something for older kids in the waiting room - a few magazines on sports, horses perhaps ?

Anything else?

I felt really lucky to be able to access such a gold standard service.

I thought the reassurance provided by the consultant was hugely valuable - and in direct contrast to the utter dismissiveness we had had from one GP.

I will feed this back to the team and we will also have a further think about how we can improve this. We are in the process of moving our adolescent outpatients to a more purpose built adolescent area and within the plans to do this we have thought about what will be available in this area for teenagers.
