What I liked

I attended the day stay unit on 29 February for a hernia repair.

The facilities were clean, all of the staff were friendly and informative. I could find no fault. I checked in at 0800 had a general anaesthetic, surgery and and had four cups of tea and a sandwich (which was good) and was on my way home at lunch time. Well done all

What could be improved

Nothing inside the unit seemed to need improvement but the parking is always a concern, it is compulsory for the person who picks you up to come in to get advice and pick up the patient but the dreaded yellow box seems to be the only place to stop. At the front of the hospital there are 20 minute spaces where is easy to obey the rules, at day-stay we didn't get a ticket but might have done.

Anything else?

Getting swabbed etc on the day of the initial consultation was fine, would it not save patient and hospital time if the pre-op could be done at the same time?
