About: Leeds General Infirmary

What I liked

We arrived at 6pm with my daughter after an urgent referral from the GP. All the staff were wonderfully helpful, calm, reassuring and dealt both directly with my daughter and me. They didn't patronise but explained clearly and never was my daughter anxious although obviously I was inside but just from the unknown not at all because of the care. The environment was calm and relaxing for children, with calm lighting and a TV. I really was very impressed and pleased for all of us that it was so relaxing.

What could be improved

We probably waited around maybe another 40 minutes once all the tests were done when we were all tired and weren't sure at that point what we needed to do. we were unclear if we had been forgotten about because at one point we were told we'd be informed about blood results by phone and could go but then another person said we needed to wait a bit longer for observation so I think just that last section of the care it seemed like not everyone was communicating with each other.

Anything else?

All the staff on ward 9 were so lovely

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I was pleased to hear about your positive experience on ward 9, and that the staff were both helpful and reassuring.

I will make sure that your compliments are passed on to the staff on the ward as well as the patient experience manager.
