"Given the choice, I would not have another child..."

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

What I liked

Some of the Care Staff and Maternity care assistants were very good and friendly and supportive

What could be improved

It was obvious that Other members of the midwifery team didn't really want me there. They didn't respond clearly to my concerns. There was delays in making decisions that resulted in the birth of my child being very dangererous, in short i was left 4 days with broken waters because one member of staff had decided to write on my notes that my waters haden't gone, despite the member of staff checking me beforehand had agreed they had. This meant that i could not be admitted to the ward etc and shows colleagues not agreeing when they should show a united front. After the birth i was clearly upset when my child was taken into the NNU, It was un dignified in that i was not helped to wash, Not helped to find food, told i was not able to see my daughter as she "did njot have the time to help me to the NNU". I was not given privacy throughout my distress, my curtains were constantly pulled open when i was to cry in private not in front of 5 other new mother (who all had there children with them which i found upsetting as i didnt have mine) furthermore i overheard the lunch lady say to a m,ember of staff "You really have to get them moving or they'll take all day" referring to new mothers on the ward, most recovering from C sections or episiotomy, i can imagine its hard to walk quickly to get lunch!
