What I liked
My midwives were brilliant, they asked me for my birth plan and quickly organised the water birth I wished, even down to lowered voices and dimmed lighting. When I wanted to give up and have an epidural they gently encouraged me and I had a natural, gentle birth with no screaming and shoutingand panic. Even at the end when I found it difficult to pass my placenta, it was dealt with calmly, the sister was called to assist and I passed it without it ruining my birth experience.I cannot praise my midwives enough, they helped me achieve one of the best days of my life and I thank them fit that x
What could be improved
Once on the post natal ward some of the midwives were a little abrupt, probably because they are sooo busy, but maybe a lite more compassion, especially for first time mums. Also the departure procedure took a very long time, also I think due to being so busy and one poor nurse trying to discharge all the new mums
Anything else?
People are all too quick to make complaints but I wish more people would make the effort to praise when things are good, I know I'm not alone in having a good experience at queens so please support our nurses!
