"Lumber Fusion - very pleased with the results"

After over 15 years of back pain, which expanded into intense sciatica, treated by increasing amounts of medication, I, finally, agreed to Back Surgery to replace the medication. The medication had increased from simple pain killers and anti-inflammatory s to morphine. As a NHS patient I was referred to the ONE HEALTH Gp ( a Private Health Gp contracted by the NHS) who assessed me, undertook a MRI scan and recommended surgery.

The surgery was performed by Mr A Kamat at the Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield, a private hospital but I was a NHS Patient. The operation lasted over 5 hours and initial recovery was painful but the pain was treated promptly and effectively. The staff were friendly, attentive and most importantly efficient and I am grateful for their dedication which aided my recovery enormously. I must thank Mr Kamat for his skill and kindness throughout the procedure and the detailed information he gave me before and after the operation.

Now only 8 weeks after what is major surgery I am walking without pain and without crutches. Being without the constant sciatica pain in my legs and buttocks is paradise. I can't thank Mr Kamat and his staff enough for this momentous change in my health. I can highly recommend this procedure to any one who suffers from the same complaint that I had. I also commend the One Health Gp for their courteous and efficient service throughout my treatment.
