What I liked
I was admitted to the EAU area as a result of collapsing in the Walk In Centre in Turner Road due to a ruptured appendix.
I was attended to , examined, kept fully informed and operated on later that day.
At all stages the care, attention and information provided was excellent.
As a result I quickly made a full recovery and was discharged the following Wednesday
What could be improved
In the scale of things these are very minor points but I feel are worth mentioning.
Once on the ward very little information is provided about basic things for example:-
- 3 times I had to ask for clean white 'stockings/socks' as the ones I had were filthy. as I had no slippers.
- the same happened when I asked for a towel for a wash/shower finally being told ' its in the cupboard' as if all new patients know where the cupboard is
These points whilst only minor were not a problem for me but I feel they could be for some older or timid patients.
Anything else?
overall the medical care and attention was excellent
