About: York Hospital

What I liked

Great staff, talked me through everything - excellent follow-up treatment options.

What could be improved

Nothing - it could not have been better

Anything else?

in June 2011, I had a freak accident smashing up my nose, which was hanging off, and went to A&E where it was stitched up expertly by a doctor specialising in facial surgery. I cannot thank this young doctor enough for literally saving my face. The A&E nurse who talked me through everything was just great as well. I did not have to wait for anything.

The follow up was with the Head and Neck Department. The consultant there was excellent and I feel very lucky to have been seen by such an expert man on the subject. He discussed all options with me about what he could do to improve my face including what the benefits and problems could be. In the end I decided to have nothing more done, due to the excellent stitching up job of the doctor in A&E, and the great follow up, I felt happy with the results, and felt I could live with my face the way it was. The nurses in the Head and Neck Department, and all the staff in that department were excellent. My husband and i were so grateful to our nurse who monitored my wound healing that we couldn't help but give her a cuddle! Thank you York Hospital - without your great staff I would be severely disfigured for life - I cannot fault the treatment in any respect - it was first class. I am very happy.
