(as the patient),

I have had many stays in Stafford hospital over the years. I have always had good treatment and care, all my stays have been due to chest infections, i also have had one stay in the A E U ward, i can't remember anything about my stay, but my family tell me i was treated exceptionally well.

I have also had the misfortune to use the A&E dept for broken limbs, and yes you have to wait, but that's because there are people worse off.

My last stay in hospital was Dec 2011, and as usual i was treated with respect and cared for very well, the nurses work so very hard, and i and my family appreciate all they have done us over the years.

I do however think that the A&E dept should NOT close at 10 pm until 8 am, as i think that will mean anyone with an emergency such as heart problem or like me breathing problems, will have to travel up to Stoke. I do not think this is acceptable.

Keep up the good work Stafford, me and my family appreciate all your hard work.

Thank you for taking the time to write your support for Stafford Hospital. I have shared your comments with the staff on AMU and A+E.

We are working very hard to ensure that our A+E services will be available twenty four hours a day as soon as possible.
