The helpful Staff on ward A1 the neuro rehab ward
Anything else?
My Dad was taken to Pinderfields in Oct 2011 by ambulance following a road accident. from A&E he was admitted to the A&E obs ward and then the Neuro rehab ward. A&E neglected to inform the orthopeadic consultants that my dad had been admitted not sent home. therefore he was 'lost' for 2 weeks and even though he was actually in the hospital he was never seen by the orthopeadic team at all. The A&e team thought that the Pain that he was experiencing in his hip was due to brusing even after an x ray, however when the pain had not improved after weeks the staff on the Neuro rehab ward fought and got him a CT scan. This showed that he had 3 fractures in his pelvis, needless to say this could have been very dangerous as he had been walking around on it for 2 weeks!
During the 2 weeks that the orthopeadics team lost him he was not having any treatment for his 5 broken and displaced metatarsals and even now 3 months on he has still not full healed from these!
"disappointing!"
