I had received an appt within 3 weeks of referral (good)
It was my first appt at this clinic and I was booked in to see the head of the clinical service. (good)
When I got there, the signage around the place wasn't great and I as I had never been to the hospital before , I got lost finding the right dept (not good)
I was seen by a junior doctor as the aforementioned doctor wasn't at the clinic that day. (not good)
I hadn't been told beforehand (not good) or offered another appt when this doctor was going to be there (not good).
There was no information in my file other than my GP referral letter (not good) I thought all health boards were able to share information with each other now? Maybe not....
The doctor I saw didn't ask to take a full history from me, just asked my about the surgery I had recently, then offered me some drug treatment without establishing how I was feeling, what symptoms I was experiencing, what my attitude to various treatment options was (all not good)
I didn't feel I received any advice about how to manage my symptoms, properly listened to or particularly supported (not good)
There was a nurse who was helpful however and they saw me to a external door when I left, so I didn't get lost again (good).
