"Concern over cleanliness"

About: Raigmore Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

I got rushed into Raigmore Hospital, Inverness last year.

I was appalled to see the cleaning staff on Ward 4c use the same mop and water that they had used on the toilet floor on the main ward floor. The same cloth cleaned each patient telly/phone without being rinsed.

Dear Highlandchic

Thank you so much for taking the time to feed-back your concerns. I am really sorry to hear that you had to have an emergency admission to hospital last year. At what was already an anxious time for you its further worrying if you didn't have the confidence in the cleanliness of the ward. I have passed your comments onto our Senior Nurse for the area and the Domestics Service Manager, who will look into the matter.

Having said that I know the Raigmore Team have been doing a lot of work to make sure the cleaning regimes required are understood and delivered. And as part of this ongoing work the General Manager of the Hospital, Clinical Director, Lead Infection Control Doctor, Lead Nurse and others are personally leading on make sure we deliver required standards.
