On arriving at Westmorland General after losing an argument with a hand axe, resulting in part of my right index finger missing, I found all of the staff that dealt with my injury to be wonderful.
There was very little delay in me being seen, the doctor explained everything to me simply so that I could understand it including the worst case. The radiologist stayed on after she had finished in order to x-ray the finger. The nurse who took on the task of stopping the bleeding had a challenge and 4 hours later I left for home.
During this time she showed great patience and professionalism, never lost her sense of humor and persistently reassured me that everything would be ok.
I would like to thank all of the staff involved in the treatment my injury.
"Wonderful staff at PCAS Unit"
