"Saturday Night A&E at Queen Margaret Hospital"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

Woe betide you go into the A&E on a saturday night / sunday morning in my experience.

I was having seizure like episodes for months and ended up there on numerous occassions (4 years on and still no formal diagnosis).

My feel this hospital is administrative nightmare as I am about to back up.

Nobody put what was wrong with me on the board and as a result of me trying to seek help when I felt unwell, I didnt make it all the way to the closed curtain from the bed. had been waiting for 3 hours without being seen.

I collapsed mid way between the bed and the curtain and was unable to move. The nurse screamed at me to get up and when I was unable asked a police officer who was in the building to attend. The officer then attempted to place me under arrest for being drunk and disorderly. My sister luckily returned and had some stern words with the officer (who was only doing his job based on info from the nurse). The handcuffs were already on one arm.

During another incident I was placed in the same room as someone going through rapid detox from drugs. Not a pleasant experience.

I typically go in, get ignored for 4 hours and then discharged without investigation. It has slowed progress of my diagnosis considerably.
