About: Cumberland Infirmary

What I liked

I had been refered by my GP, given a date I was suprised at how little time I had to wait before I attended the Hospital. Arriving well in time for the consultation I reported to the reception at the orthepaedic department was made feel very welcome. Sent to the Xray Department and was seen within 5 minutes of arrival, went back to the orthepaedic reception and was called in to see the consultant with in 10 minutes. I was asked into a consulting room within minutes the consultant and his assistant arrived. After a long consultation and examination I was told what would be needed to be done. I was left in the room while a letter was sent to my GP. He came back and then asked if I had any questions, the only concern I had was when the operation take place to be told 6 to 8 weeks. Very impressed with the service.

Firstly, thank you for getting in touch and we apologise that it has taken us so long to respond. We have just changed the way we do this and assigned a member of staff to respond to improve and be more timely with our responses. Thank you for letting us know about the care you received from the Cumberland Infirmary and that your outpatient appointment went well with the staff taking great care to ensure you were fully informed about what was going to happen and when. The experiences of our patients is really important to us so that we can understand what is important and where we need to improve.
